Rescue Scuba Diver
Expand your personal diving knowledge as a Rescue Scuba Diver or Advanced Rescue Scuba Diver course. Learn how to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies for yourself and others, learn how to assist and transport divers, and how to perform surface rescues as well as rescues from depth involving both boat and shore-based skin and scuba divers.

At Oceano Dive Centre, the Rescue SCUBA Diver course consists of 2 main phases:
- Theory. The academic training will help you understand the extra skills involved in this course, first at home doing an e-learning then a review in our classroom with your instructor.
- Open Water Skill Dive Day. You complete your certification by doing all rescue and emergency required skills with skin and SCUBA gear. You will complete the following skills:
A. Identify and properly assist skin and SCUBA divers issues
B. Dealing with muscle cramps
C. Dealing with rapid shallow breathing
D. Dealing with exhaustion
E. Dealing with pre panic and breathing difficulties
F. SCUBA rescue
G. Dealing with removing unconscious victims from water
During your rescue training you will learn how to prevent dive incidents and accidents. This will make you safer and a better diver.
You can include an extra NITROX specialty with this course for a discounted price, ask staff how.
When you complete this course, you will receive the NAUI Rescue SCUBA Diver e-certification.
You can include the NAUI first aid course for divers and the NAUI Oxygen provider with this course for a discounted price, ask staff how.
Prerequisites
To enrol in the NAUI Rescue SCUBA Diver course you must:
- Pay the course fee in full
- Be at least 15 years-old (Junior rescue available for under 15s, ask in store)
- Have a NAUI Open Water SCUBA Diver certification or equivalent
- Have done an open water dive in the last 3 months
- Complete the eLearning before review day
- Have the NAUI first aid or equivalent
- Have the NAUI Oxygen provider course or equivalent
Have OR hire a full set of SCUBA equipment plus the following items:
- Dive Computer
- Compass
- Torch (primary and backup)
- Slate & Pencil
- Surface Marker Buoy
- whistle
What's Included in the NAUI Rescue SCUBA Diver Course Fee
Our course fee includes the following materials:
- NAUI Rescue SCUBA Diver eLearning course
- NAUI app including all dive tools and logbook
- NAUI e-certification in your NAUI app
- Use of dive tanks
- Small class size (between 2 to 4 people max)

Items Not Included
We do not include dive gear (SCUBA set, mask, snorkel, boots, fins and weight belt dive torches, compass, tank light and slate) as you will need these items once you are a certified diver. There is a student discount on purchasing these items when you buy from Oceano Dive Centre.

Dive is an outdoor activity completely out of our control, if weather is not safe to dive we will reschedule your dives, we will do our best to inform ASAP at the latest within 24 hours from the scheduled dive dates.
