NAUI Sidemount Diver

At Oceano Dive Centre, the NAUI Sidemount Diver course consists of two main phases:

• Theory. The academic training will help you understand the extra skills involved in this course, in our classroom with your instructor. 

• Open Water Dives. You complete your certification by doing a minimum of 4 training open water dives, in a variety of underwater activities. You will complete the following Skills:

1. Gear configuration 

2. Buoyancy

3. Side-mounted cylinder attachment considerations

4. Cylinder removal and replacement  

5. Deep Dive (certifiable to 40 m)

6. Gas management with independent cylinders;  

7. gas sharing with side-mounted cylinders;        

8. Dive Planning                         

9. In water skills with multiple side mount tanks

During your NAUI SIdemount training you will learn how to dive safely with a sidemount rig with a variety of configurations, taking full advantage of it.

You can include an extra NITROX specialty with this course for a discounted price, ask staff how.

This course is to provide the diver with fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to gain experience and minimize risk while conducting open water dives utilizing a sidemount SCUBA equipment configuration within the no decompression limits. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to conduct dives using a sidemount equipment configuration in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and equipment approximate those of training

Prerequisites

To enroll in the NAUI Advanced Open Diver course, you must:

• Pay the course fee in full

• Be at least 15 years-old 

• Have a NAUI Advanced Open Water SCUBA Diver certification or equivalent

• Have a NAUI Nitrox certification or equivalent

• Have done an open water dive in the last 3 months and have a minimum of 25 dives

• Complete the e-Learning before review day

• Have OR hire the following items:

• 

  Dive Computer

• 

  Mask, Adequate open heel fins

• 

  Adequate thermal protection 

What's Included in the NAUI Sidemount diver Course Fee

Our course fee includes the following materials:

• NAUI app including all dive tools and logbook

• NAUI e-certification in your NAUI app

• Use of dive tanks and sidemount rig.

• Small class size (between 2 to 4 people max)

• Oceano Training guaranty 

Items Not Included

• We do not include personal dive gear ( mask, snorkel, boots, fins, dive suit and computer). There is a student discount on purchasing these items when you buy from Oceano Dive Centre.

• Transportation to and from the dive sites/pool
