Wreck Penetration Course

Divers love to explore and while most divers are content to confine their diving to the open water, allowing direct access to the surface at all times, others love the thrill of discovering new places far from the surface. Undersea caves, abandoned mines, under the ice, and inside shipwrecks are all popular destinations for these intrepid explorers who go beyond the bounds of recreational diving.

At Oceano Dive Centre, the NAUI Wreck Penetration diver course consists of two main phases:

  • Theory. The academic training will help you understand the extra skills involved in this course, in our classroom with your instructor.
  • Water Skill Dives. You will learn all the skills required to safely plan and execute planned penetration wreck decompression dives up to 46m. You will achieve your certification by completing the necessary training successfully over a minimum of 3 wreck penetration demo dives and 3 Wreck penetration dives with decompression.

You can enrol in a Sidemount specialty course with this course for a discounted price, ask staff how.
This course is to provide the diver with the skills and knowledge needed to gain experience and minimize risks in penetration wreck diving and utilizing Air, EANx or Trimix for dives to maximum of 46m (150 feet) that require staged decompression, utilizing EANx mixtures and/or oxygen during decompression. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to plan and execute wreck penetration dives that require stage-decompression without direct supervision, provided the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and equipment approximate those of training.
